Hello friends and helloooo Spring!

Spring is one of my favorite seasons (along with summer and fall) but I do LOVE spring… It's the few months of the year where I can open the windows in my home, enjoy the fresh, crisp air, longer days, bright sunshine, growing plants and everything turning green!

It’s also a fantastic time to get outside! For mental and physical health, I challenge you to step outside everyday and just take a few deep breaths. Enjoy the sunshine and the fresh air.

On the subject of getting outside, today we want to discuss moving your body!

Weight Loss Tip #9 - Move Your Body

Activity and movement are essential to weight loss and weight maintenance. Unfortunately, it’s also many people’s least favorite part of the weight loss journey and I want that to change! Movement does not have to be miserable. It doesn’t have to feel like torture or something that you dread. Think of an activity that you enjoy that requires you to move your body. It could be gardening, walking your dog, Pokemon go, group exercise, chasing your kids… movement doesn’t have to be a one hour walk on a treadmill staring at the wall. It can be FUN! It can be enjoyable.

My challenge to you this week is to try out some activities that you ENJOY. Start small. You're more likely to stick with a habit that doesn't feel overwhelming on day one.

Maybe it’s a 5 minute walk in your neighborhood. Maybe its dancing around your house to your favorite song! Start somewhere. When you start small, you decrease overwhelm and have no room for excuses. You can fit in 5 minutes a day. Once you begin noticing the mental and physical benefits and realizing it’s not something to dread, you can work your way up to 30 minutes per day. If you move your body in one way or another for 30 minutes each day, I guarantee it will change your life! I’m here for you and I believe in you!

P.S. I want to note that even in small doses, somedays it will still be challenging to get out and move your body. Do it anyway! If you struggle with creating healthy habits and breaking bad habits, I highly recommend books like Atomic Habits and The Power of Habit. (Not an ad, just some resources that have really helped me!)
